We have chosen to include two different instructions in the pattern, to suit beginners as well as experienced knitters. If you want to knit a simple, beginner-friendly pattern, choose version 1. If you want a well-shaped pattern with nice details, choose version 2. What distinguishes the versions is a raised back neck using German short rows and the ribbing. The simple version has no raised back neck and standard ribbing.
