Alva Socks

Alva socks have a simple but beautiful textured pattern consisting of knit and purl stitches, as well as a small cable. The socks are knitted with thin yarn on thin needles, and with their fine fit, they quickly become a wardrobe favorite.

Alva socks are knitted from the toes up. Stitches are cast on using Judy's magic cast-on, and then worked in the round with increases to shape the toe. Once the correct number of stitches is reached, you continue to knit in the round until you make some increases on the sides where the feet are higher. Then the heel is started, which is made using short rows. After the heel, some decreases are made to ensure a better fit for the leg. You choose the length of the leg and finish with a few rounds of ribbing.

Suggested Needles: Circular needles 2.5 mm, 60 or 80 cm, if you use magic loop. You can also use double-pointed needles 2.5 mm if you prefer.

Test knitters have used approx. 54 (60) 63 (70) 72 grams of the recommended
