Alva Sweater

The Alva sweater is a stylish sweater with a braid pattern and saddle shoulder. It has a short fit and a high neck. It is perfect to wear over a dress, with a skirt or with high-waisted pants.

Alva sweater is knitted from the top down with saddle shoulders, first in the round on circular needle with increases towards the front and back piece. The sleeve stitches on the shoulders are left to rest and you then knit back and forth over the front and back piece separately. The work is brought together under the sleeves where you again knit in the round on circular needle. You make some decreases on the body to get a better fit at the waist. Stitches for the sleeves are picked up and knitted in the round on circular needle with decreases. Both sleeves and body are finished with rib. Stitches are picked up around the neck opening and you knit a polo collar in rib.

Gauge: 24 stitches per 10 cm in textured knitting on 4.5 mm needles.

Knitting suggestions: Circular needle 4.5 mm, 40 cm + 60/80 cm. Circular needle 3.5 mm, 40 cm + 60/80 cm. Possibly double pointed needles 4.5 and 3.5 mm if not using magic loop.
