Knitted t-shirt pattern.

A timeless, knitted top worked top-down. This makes it easy to adjust the length to your liking. The garment is intended as a versatile basic piece – equally useful for everyday wear as for more dressed-up occasions. The construction is simple but yields a beautiful result. 

Matilda Tee Junior is knitted top-down with raglan increases. The work is divided for sleeves and body, and these are worked separately and finished with ribbing. Stitches are picked up for the neckband, which is worked in the round and bound off. We have chosen to include two different instructions in the pattern, to suit beginners as well as experienced knitters. If you want to knit a simple, beginner-friendly pattern, choose version 1. If you want a well-shaped pattern with nice details, choose version 2. What distinguishes the versions is a raised back neck using German short rows and the ribbing. The simple version has no raised back neck and standard ribbing. The more advanced version has a raised back neck and slightly more detailed ribbing.

Gauge: 21 sts / 10 cm in stockinette stitch on 4.5 mm needles.
Suggested needles: Circular needles 4 mm (40 + 80 cm) and 4.5 mm (40 + 80 cm). Optionally, double-pointed needles 4.5 and 4 mm for sleeves if you do not use magic loop. 
Material: 100 (100) 100 (150) 150 (150) grams Pure merino from KNITS (50 g = 230 m) 
together with 50 (50) 50-75 (75) 75 (75-100) grams Soft silk mohair from KNITS (25 g = 210 m).  
Yarn alternative: 100 (100) 100 (150) 150 (150) grams Sunday from Sandnes Garn together 
with 50 (50) 50-75 (75) 75 (75-100) grams Tynn silk mohair from Sandnes Garn.
