Matilda's Late Summer Sweater

A slightly chunky, short sweater, with a wide V-neck and balloon sleeves. Matilda's Late Summer Sweater is knitted from the bottom up in English rib. First the body is knitted, the work is divided into front and back pieces under the sleeves. A V-neck is made on both front and back pieces and the work is brought together at the shoulders. Stitches for the sleeves are picked up and the sleeves are knitted in the round in English rib without decreases. The sleeves become slightly balloon-shaped when they are finished with a tight elastic.

Knitting tension: Before washing: 18 stitches in English rib on size 4 needles.
After washing: 16 stitches in English rib on size 4 needles.
Knitting suggestion: Circular needle 4mm (60 cm + 40 cm for the sleeves) Circular needle 3.5 (60 cm) and possibly double pointed needles 3.5mm for sleeve elastic (if not using magic loop).
Materials: 250 (300) 350 (350) 400 grams Baby Merino from Drops (50g =175m) together with 100 (125) 150 (150) 150 grams Kid Silk from Drops. (25g = 210m).
Yarn alternatives: Thin merino wool from Sandnes garn (50g = 175m) together with Thin silk mohair from Sandnes garn (25= 212m)
