Midnightsun cardigan

An oversized, simple, cozy and very versatile cardigan with small details. This is the one you bring to throw over your top or dress when the evening comes. It is suitable for everyday wear as well as for parties. Knitted on 10 mm needles, it is also a quick knit. It is designed to be knitted with approx. 35-45 cm of positive ease, depending on how you want it to fit.

The Midnightsun cardigan is knitted from the top down. First, stitches are cast on for the back piece, which is knitted back and forth. Then, stitches are picked up on the shoulders to knit the front pieces. Some short rows are knitted on the shoulders to optimize the fit. The front pieces are knitted completely straight without increases. The back piece and both front pieces are joined under the arms. The body is knitted back and forth and finished with ribbing, two rounds of double knitting, and an Italian bind-off. Stitches for the sleeves are picked up, and the sleeves are knitted in the round on circular needles with decreases. The sleeves are finished by forming a nice detail with decreases before knitting ribbing, two rounds of double knitting, and finishing with an Italian bind-off.

Accessories: Crochet hook. To minimize the risk of the cardigan slipping down the shoulders, you can crochet slip stitches into all stitches at the back of the neck.
