An oversized, simple, cozy, and very versatile cardigan with small details. It is just as suitable for everyday wear as it is for parties. With 8 mm needles, it is also a quick knit. It is designed to be knitted with approx. 25-30 cm of positive ease, depending on how you want it to fit.

The Midnightsun cardigan junior is worked from the top down. First, stitches are cast on for the back panel, which is worked back and forth. Then, stitches are picked up at the shoulders to knit the front panels. Short rows are worked at the tops of the shoulders to optimize the fit. The front panels are knitted completely straight without increases. The back panel and both front panels are joined under the sleeves. The body is knitted back and forth and finished with ribbing, two rounds of tubular knitting, and Italian bind-off. Stitches for the sleeves are picked up and the sleeves are knitted in the round on circular needles with decreases. The sleeves are finished by creating a nice detail with decreases before working ribbing, two rounds of tubular knitting, and finishing with an Italian bind-off.
