PDF pattern for knitted socks for children.
Naia socks are perfect as fine socks during the cold winter months. On 2.5 mm needles and with a frill at the shaft, they are especially suitable for more festive occasions.
Naia means wave or sea. So the name of the socks comes from the fact that the ruffle looks a bit like waves. Naia socks junior are knitted from the toes up. You cast on stitches with Judy's magic cast on and then knit in the round with increases to shape the tip of the toe. When you have reached the right number of stitches, knit in the round until you make some increases on the sides where the feet become higher. Then the heel is started, which is done using shortened rows. After the heel, some decreases are made to make the shaft fit better. The ruffle is knitted separately, from the bottom up, and then placed on top of the sock's stitches and knitted together, and then the last edge is knitted before finishing.
