Naia Summer set Junior

The Naia Summer Set Junior is a truly adorable set, perfect for all warm summer days. The ruffles on the sleeves and legs give the shorts that extra lovely detail. The pattern includes 2-in-1, with instructions for both the top and the shorts. 

The Naia Summer Set Junior is knitted top-down. The top is initially knitted with short rows at the neck to improve the fit around the neckline, while also performing raglan increases. After the raglan increases are complete, the work is divided, and the body and sleeves are finished separately. The shorts are also knitted top-down with short rows at the back. You can choose to knit the ribbed edge with an opening on the inside to adjust the elastic during use, or you can knit traditionally and simply without an opening for the elastic. The shorts are knitted with increases at the gusset, and then they are divided into legs which are finished separately.

Gauge:                        21 stitches in stockinette stitch on 10 cm, with 4 mm needles

Needle size:                        Circular needles 4 mm and 3.5 mm (60 cm + possibly 40 cm for smaller sizes)

Tips for choosing size - The top is designed to have a positive ease of approx. 5-7 cm, while the shorts have a tighter fit and 0-2 cm ease. Since the garments are knitted in a cotton blend yarn, we expect them to stretch slightly with wear. Measure the chest circumference (for the top) and the hip circumference, slightly above the buttocks (for the shorts) and choose the size according to the corresponding bust circumference in the pattern. If you choose a different size than indicated by age, you can instead adjust the length according to age.
